Another fabulous Rock Pool Ramble conducted by Peter Crowcroft was held on Sunday, March 8 at the Airieys Inlet creek mouth on low tide.
Peter took us with ease into the incredible realm of this transitional ecosystem, where we discovered the morphology of Cuttlefish, Crabs and Starfish.
Felt and understood the texture of each critter, the ways of the Decorator Crab and how the shellfish feed and predate on each other.
Exploring the diversity of the ever changing geology and the rich history of our First Nations People who met here and created the Middens that are now exposed within the sedimentary layers.
It was a perfect autumn morning and a great time was had by all, with all critters respectfully returned to where they were found.
